The squirrels have done some minor digging but, fingers crossed, it seems that they don't much like fava beans. The blood meal spread liberally around the soil doesn't hurt either ... for all they know, this coffin-like planter has been the site of a squirrel massacre.

The tomatoes are still a work in progress -- we started off with pretty tiny plants, so it might take a little while.
Gardening is hard work. Too bad not everyone in the house feels they have to lend a hand ... or paw.
Talk to me when the catnip's knee-high. Oh, and by the way, could you straighten out my foot? I'm kinda stuck.
