Living in Toronto means never having to say,"I wish someone would come and stay with us." There will always be someone who wants to come and stay.

Sometimes you get a few weeks' notice, sometimes a few hours. But when you live in the city of Pearson, there will always be someone who wants to stay over and drink your Manhattans and your wine and eat your food. And sleep in your guest room. And make out with your cats. We aim to please.

Is that guy as sloshed as he looks? I can't read the label...what kind of wine is it?

We were all a little ... tight.

Wine is "The Lackey" -- a very nice Australian shiraz. Label features a pair of well-worn Blunnies. We all agreed it was too bad Dick wasn't around to share it, so we toasted him.

OK, part of me feels very guilty, having been responsible for at least one of the "only a few hours' notice" flying visits. Another part of me is very sorry I wasn't there for that party!
