Sushi Pigs!

Our little friend Heiko is battling acute myeloid leukemia and a fungal infection on his brain. You wouldn't know it by the way he perks up for Kelly and Sara's Sushi Delivery. Here we are this afternoon with Heiko (carefully eyeing Kelly's chopsticks) and his mom Gabrielle.

Heiko enjoyed some shrimp tempura, chicken yakitori, and avocado roll but declined the negima yaki (beef rolled around scallions) on the grounds that it just did not meet the standard of Kelly's Italian pot roast and gravy.

Right now, after two courses of chemo, Heiko's leukemia is in remission. We are all praying that it stays that way so that the infection can be controlled (chemo has to be halted as long as the infection is present).

Here's to Heiko, a brave and tenacious little boy.
